Guy Mees
The early work of Guy Mees seems allied to tendencies such as monochromy, matière and assemblage, but from the very outset possesses a headstrong, subtle and spiritual tone, not devoid of pointed humour. Like in the metaphorical use of lace, the most exemplary of folkloric products. This work presages his later experiments with light and the minimal coloured interventions in space for which he is renowned.
