    SUPER DEMOCRACY - The Senate of Things

    Three cultural institutions enter into a dialogue with the Belgian Senate during the exhibition SUPERDEMOCRACY, which is on display throughout October. BPS22 in Charleroi, BOZAR in Brussels and M HKA in Antwerp provide a cultural dimension to the Senate’s current issues.

    This work from the Malian artist Bréhima Konê is a 'Bogolan Artistique' illustrating a heaven-ascending figure. Striking, too, is that the work only received its final note in Antwerp from fashion designer Dirk van Saene, appointing it with stars made from aluminum foil. This works hangs in an ensemble of deceased artists whom, according to Narcisse Tordoir, received (next to) no recognition during their lifetimes, only to come to artistic notice posthumously.
